W Worldwide 2003 - 2008 Strengthening fishery products health conditions in the ACP Countries (African, Caribbean and Pacific)  and the UK and Netherlands Overseas and Territories (OCT) States Improve the access of ACP/OCT fisheries products to the world market, by strengthening export health controls and improving production conditions in beneficiary countries. Particular attention is given to ensure that products from small-scale fisheries are not excluded from global markets.The Project has 4 lots:  1.Studies and artisanal fisheries support;  2.Advice on sanitary controls for public and private sectors;  3.Advice and training to testing laboratories;  4.Training for public and private sectors (except laboratory training). Europe Latvia 2003 - 2004 Food Safety and Market Orientation Issues in the fisheries industry The purpose of the project is to improve the fish processors knowledge about production of safe fish products, in accordance with EU regulations, and to increase their knowledge of market demands as regards food safety.  Traceability issues are also incorporated and two other Baltic countries (Estonia, Lithuania) and Poland will be linked to the project EUROFISH

Central America Nicaragua 2003 Building Sustainable Livelihoods for the food Insecure/Vulnerable Groups The project objectives were: to carry out a  study of the situation of the domestic market of fish and fishery products in Managua with the objective of train women of the Nicaraguan fishery sector. The situation diagnosis approached the following topics: domestic market; artisanal communities; the woman in the industrial activity; fish sale retailers; fishmarkets; supermarkets; etc.   Basing on the conclusions of the study is planned next year to develop training material to carry out a series of training seminars for the Nicaraguan women of the sector INFOPESCA
